Surfing, film Madrid Festival

1ST MADRID SURFING FILM FESTIVAL

Next May, the Cineteca de Matadero Madrid will host the first Madrid Surfing Film Festival, an event already held with great success in other Spanish cities and which is a true tribute to the ocean, surfing and a unique and perfect lifestyle that includes both.

The program includes three days of documentaries about surfing and the environment, as well as photo exhibitions, round tables, special guests and music. This will be the weekend of May 27-29 when the famous event will bring filmmakers, surf industry professionals, athletes and all the extended family and friends of the surf world to Madrid to enjoy the most captivating stories captured on camera by the best artists of the genre.

Led by those in charge of the Canarias Surf Film Festival, now in its fourth edition, the Madrid festival is conceived under two premises: an absolute passion for the ocean and the need to protect it; and a selection of high quality films made by local, national and international filmmakers that have won awards at prestigious festivals such as New York, San Diego, London or Sydney. In addition to the screenings, the program includes three days full of side events such as presentations by ocean conservation and surf industry professionals; asphalt paving workshops (Carver); yoga master class; photo exhibitions on the same topic. All you have to do is buy your ticket online or at the Matadero box office one hour before the show.
